The TOEIC Test: Lesson #1 - The importance of mental stamina.

As an intro to ETS testing formats, I always prep my TOEIC students with the following:

1. TOEIC is a 2-hour test.

2. You must be able to concentrate for every second of every minute of those 2 hours.

3. Most people don’t have the mental stamina to focus their minds for 2 consecutive hours without getting distracted–usually caused by waivering emotions and confidence.

4. A necessary component of TOEIC training is learning how to systematize the answer elimination process. Economy of mental processes allows for extended attention span and overall stamina.

5. Greater control of your mental faculty makes way for increased confidence and will help you to relax and feel better about yourself throughout the test, which is absolutely necessary to attain a high score.
